The Community Adult Learning Centre (CALC) provides excellent learning opportunities for indigenous and non-indigenous peoples in Lillooet and the surrounding communities. CALC offers a variety of academic upgrading and training opportunities for adult learners 18 years and older. Courses are free and funds to help with transportation, childcare, and equipment are also available. In 2022 CALC had 243 participants access services and in 2023 the number of participants increased to 379 individuals. In 2024/2025 CALC expects the growth in the number of people seeking services to continue to grow. The 2023/24 programs and services were as follows:
Collaborations and Partnerships
CALC works closely with local employers and community members to identify skills shortages and then partners with training institutes (i.e. NVIT, Okanagan College, TRU) to bring training to the Lillooet area. As well, CALC partners with the northern St’at’imc communities to deliver training and individual supports to assist with upgrading and employment.
