K̓alhwá7alap nsnekwnúk̓wa7, Natasha Billy nskwátsitsa; Xaxli’pmeckan muta Tsalalhmeckan. Hello my friends. My name is Natasha Billy. I am from Xaxli’p and Tsal’alh. I have moved back to my home fire of Xaxli’p. As we work towards reconciliation, I see many experienced, educated and skilled workers making the move home. I have been hired as the Aboriginal Health Care Advocate and started my new role here on May 1, 2023. I graduated from Thompson Rivers University in 2018 from the Bachelor of Social Work program. I have worked in the social work field for the past 8 years. I am currently a University of Victoria student in the Master of Social Work Indigenous Specialization program. I am set to graduate in April of 2024. I look forward to working for the St’át’imc people to promote the design and delivery of healthcare services that are culturally safe without prejudice or inequities.
